We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved President of the Da Vinci Advisory Board for twelve years; our trusted friend, Mr. Gene LaFollette.

Gene P. LaFollette, JD Advisory Board President
Gene P. LaFollette has over 40 years of legal experience. He received his B.A. in history at Kansas University in 1965. He then attended Hastings College of Law in San Francisco and was admitted to the California State Bar in 1969. After law school, he served 3 years in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. From 1971-1981 he worked at the Alameda County Public Defender's Office. From 1981 - 1999 he started a law practice with his fellow colleague in Oakland, CA. In 1999 he decided started his own business in Alameda, CA where he continues to practice law and help others in need of legal advice and representation. Attorney LaFollette is certified by the Administrative Office of the Courts Center for Judicial Education and Research as a pro tem judge and has taught law courses at a local university and college.
Gene lives in Alameda with his wife Caroline. He has 5 children and eight grandchildren, and he has been an ardent supporter of Da Vinci Center since its inception almost twelve years ago.
Dr. Fair Wang, MD, MS Advisory Board Parent Representative
Dr. Fair received his Doctor of Medicine from Taipai Taiwan ROC, and received his Master of Science in Health Policy and Management from Harvard University. His clinical training includes Resident in Surgery at Taipei Taiwan ROC, Internship in Internal Medicine at New York University Downtown Hospital in New York, New York, as well as residency in the Department of Anesthesiologoy and Pain Medicine at UC Davis Medical Center.
Dr. Fair went on to earn tenure as Chief Anesthesiologist at San Leandro Hospital, and is a member of the Leadership Council Executive Committee at Harvard School of Public Health.
Dr. Fair is married with three gifted daughters, two of whom attend Da Vinci Center. He lives in Berkeley, California with his family. Dr. Fair is an incredible resource to our community, and an ongoing supporter of the school.
